بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Alslam Alikum Wa Rahmat Allah(Peace Be Upon You),
We at Masjid Bilal have traversed upon the lofty goal of establishing a community for the sake of Allah, which is based upon the light and guidance from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in accordance with the understanding of the best generations of the Muslim ummah. Over the course of the last few years, we have experienced exponential growth in our Masjid, seeing people from different ethnic backgrounds and cultures coming together for the sake of Allah. Our intentions are the same; seeking to learn Islam and applying it in our lives hoping for Allah’s Mercy and the reward of paradise.
Our current location is no longer suitable to meet the current and future needs of our growing community, we have now embarked on expanding our beloved Masjid. We need your help, not only with your donations, but also with your suggestions and comments. Please become a member of our mosque. May God bless you all for your good deeds.
History of Masjid Bilal
This project was initiated by five families on July of 1994. Each of the
families was committed to pledge a certain amount of money to fund this
project, at the same time one member of the five families offered her
private office to be used for Friday's and Ramadan's prayers to save
some money for the project.
On June of 1995 they applied to the State of New Jersey to form the
corporation under the name of "MUSLIM SOCIETY OF JERSEY SHORE INC.", and
on August of 1996 they received the approval from the IRS as an official
registered None Profit Organization.
On October of 1998 the corporation purchased a building was formerly a
"Church" and they converted the building to a Masjid ,the building is
3,550 square feet and the lot is 5.6 Acres with room for future
expansion.
Although the number of the Muslim society was limited,
the support of the organization was totally depending on donations and
they didn't have membership dues, With the help of GOD and Muslims in
the community they were able to pay for the project in full within two
years.
